Dancing on the Elephant
by Lisa Hagen | July 12-August 15
ABOUT THE PLAY
Follow the escapades of the very feisty Edna and her friend Nora who meet in their twilight years at a Cape Breton Retirement Home and forge a deep friendship over carpet bowling, cocktail hour martinis and a madcap scheme to escape the home! In a process that is at times hilarious and at times heartbreaking, these two fascinating women try to find agency in this new phase of life. This will be the world-premiere of this touching Canadian play about aging with dignity.
Content advisory: this production features some coarse language and adult themes. Recommended for persons aged 14+.
REVIEWS
"It was excellent! The actors were extraordinary, so committed to their parts and to the script. The story line was beautifully told; it was sad, painful, funny and hopeful. It truly was a fantastic show. I would recommend this show at Theatre Baddeck as a must see." - Colleen M.
