Our story:

Theatre Baddeck is a professional non-profit theatre company based in Baddeck, Nova Scotia. We began operations in 2014 and had our first summer season in 2015 with the historical fiction comedy The Young Ladies of Baddeck Club by Co-Artistic Directors Christy MacRae-Ziss and Hannah Ziss. The play was a hit with tourists and locals and was remounted in 2016 and 2017. It was lauded as “the highlight of our vacation” and “a play that made me proud to call Cape Breton home.”

It was with this encouraging response that Christy and Hannah forged on, programming seasons with summer fare that had a distinct Cape Breton flavour. Click here to explore our full production history.
