For audience members

Ticketing

  1. With two metre/6 feet physical distancing requirements in place between family bubbles, seating capacity in the audience is limited to 28-30 people. Patrons will be encouraged via social media, website and email communications, to purchase tickets in advance online.

  2. Our box office area has been reconfigured to allow a single staff member to sit behind a plexiglass barrier. Only one person at a time is allowed inside the lobby where this Box Office booth is located. Signage outside the main doors and in the lobby area makes this requirement clear. Box Office opens one hour prior to each performance.

Cleaning Procedures

  1. All seating and handrails are wiped down with industrial grade cleaning products between every show. There is only one show per day, with the exception of Saturdays.

  2. High touch surfaces are wiped down with a disinfectant at the beginning and end of pre-show and intermission.

  3. Hand sanitizer is available at Box Office, the Bar area, the bathrooms and at the Seating Entrance.

  4. Waste and recycling will be removed between each performance and hands washed immediately afterwards.

On arrival at the Theatre

Patrons are directed to check in at Box Office regardless of whether they have already purchased tickets. They will be asked to complete a Safe Check In regarding their travel and exposure status, and asks them to confirm that they are symptom free.  They will not be permitted entry if they answer yes to any of these questions. They will also be added by staff to the Contact Tracing Log for that show in the event of a positive case or exposure arising from that show. Contact Tracing Logs for each show will be maintained for thirty days then destroyed. Finally, staff will ensure that the patron has an acceptable face mask and that they understand it is to be worn at all times except to eat or drink (see further below).

Patrons will then be directed to the Seating Entrance at the side of the building. Staff will direct patrons one bubble group at a time to their seats. If a patron is in a wheelchair or requires seating assistance they will be assisted by a staff member to their seat from the Box Office entrance.

Masking requirements and hand sanitizing

Patrons will be told even before purchasing tickets that they must wear a mask at all times in the theatre except for eating or drinking. (see further below) This messaging will continue at every step of the process up to and including when they enter the theatre for the performance. Patrons without a mask will be provided one free of charge. They will also be instructed to sanitize their hands at the Seating Entrance

Physical Distancing

  1. Floor decals and signage throughout the theatre indicate distancing guidelines. Audience seating is not fixed so only chairs available for seating have been set out. The placement of each chair is clearly marked on the riser to ensure it is not shifted by the patron. This messaging is enforced by signage and the Curtain Speech.

  2. Staff will constantly monitor all areas to ensure physical distancing guidelines are met.

Bathrooms

  1. Bathrooms are fully cleaned and disinfected between every show.

  2. During performances, a bathroom attendant monitors traffic to ensure that there is only one patron in each of the two washrooms at any time. Between visits, the attendant will use disinfectant wipes to wipe down all taps, light switches, toilet flush handles and door handles.

  3. Through signage, patrons are encouraged to wash hands for at least 20 seconds with warm water and soap.

Food and Drink

  1. The bar is open and refreshments are available before the show and at intermission.

  2. As directed by current Public Health guidelines, patrons may either order from staff and be served while in their seats or may be permitted to attend the bar and place their order.

  3. All food and drink must be consumed in their seats.

  4. Purchases will be encouraged via POS machine (Credit or debit cards). Prices are rounded to minimise handling of cash.

  5. All bar staff wear masks and sanitize their hands between each order.

Leaving the theatre

Staff will direct patrons to exit row by row to maintain physical distancing and avoid crowding.

Engaging with Front of House staff and Cast

Signage will reinforce the message to maintain physical distancing from all Front of House staff and that there will be no opportunity to meet with cast members after the performance.

Concerns and Comments

Through signage, written communication and in the Curtain Speech, audience members will be told that any concerns during their time in the Hall can be directed to our Compliance Officer who will be present at every performance and easily identified.
